Satyamev Jayate...!!!

Indeed "Satyamev Jayate........" , but after loads of hardships, with hoards of opposition, discouragements, heartbreaks, and the difficult adjectives may continue to eternity....

First it was female foeticide , the second episode was on child sexual abuse and many more of these in store..
Yes you caught me right, i am talking of the new show on the idiot box- "Satyamev Jayate" . Only today, did I get a chance to chance to watch the show and to my disbelief it was too engrossing than i anticipated it to be..Yes there have been shows drawing same level of attention and as gripping as this one....there have been and are television programmes based on similar lines. But this is the one finds more takers and talkers than any other. Reason- involvement of Mr. Aamir Khan, doing the tricks promotional campaign, big shot promoters and of course the bigger production value.Said all this, it doesn't take away the quality of the "Satyamev Jayate" even a wee bit.

"Satyamev Jayate" has been in debates at office, awe in public gatherings and a rave on our best pal facebook. In bad lights, sometimes in good. "Aamir just wants to make profit", "the other Khan, involved in much more charity than him...", "a copy of a La-Oprah", "it won't change anything", "its very good show","it would ignite a chord nationwide" and many such. The "female foeticide" episode rekindling the almost death issue in Rajasthan. Doing more goods than bad.

No, its not that i am totally floored by the show or its concept or Aamir hosting it. But at the same time i cannot deny its face value (because of a star hosting it), greater reach by being telecast on national channel and most importantly the issues it is bringing to the lime light. The societal menace long being prevalent but under wraps, people shying away from those, neglecting them thinking its not my plight. People are such pessimists that they have become allergic to anything good and positive and we ourselves are to be blamed for it, our negligence, our "chalta hai" attitude. Its high time we change it as it can give birth to a barbaric society where, "an eye for an eye" would be the only justice and reason for rejoice.

I am not making any propaganda nor am i a social worker.Just an urge to my generation-ites if we make minor changes in ourselves, be a more patient, a little more tolerant, a little more sovereign, a little more compassionate and empathetic...a little effort from our side can change a the face of the world because "WE" are the face of the world!!!

May be then "Satyamev Jayate" (the phrase) would be more believable :-) :)
